He narrated to him that he heard Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas and al-Dahhak ibn Qays during the year when Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan performed Hajj, and they were discussing the tamattu' (enjoyment) of 'Umrah with Hajj. Al-Dahhak said: No one does that except he who is ignorant of the command of Allah. Sa'd said: How evil is what you have said, O son of my brother. Al-Dahhak said: Indeed, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab forbade that. Sa'd said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) performed it, and we performed it with him.
1793 - Al-'Abbas ibn Yazid al-'Abdi narrated to us, Bishr ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, 'Imran ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Abu Raja', who said: 'Imran ibn Husayn said: The verse of mut'ah (enjoyment)—meaning the mut'ah of Hajj—was revealed in the Book of Allah, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) commanded it. No verse was subsequently revealed that abrogated the mut'ah of Hajj, nor did the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbid it until he died. A man said afterwards whatever he wished based on his own opinion.
1794 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqamah: If he goes out performing tamattu' during the months of Hajj, upon him is what is easily obtained of the sacrificial offering, a sheep. Ibrahim said: I mentioned that to Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and he said: This is the statement of Ibn 'Abbas.
1795 - My father narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn al-Haytham narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, who said: 'Ata' said: Ibn al-Zubayr used to say: Mut'ah is only for the one who is prevented (muhsar), and it is not for the one whose way is cleared. Ibn 'Abbas used to say: Mut'ah is for the one who is prevented, and for the one whose way is cleared.
1796 - My father narrated to us, Duhaym narrated to us, Abu Mushir narrated to us, Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Malik, regarding the saying of Allah: "So whoever performs tamattu' with the 'Umrah to the Hajj," he said: It is abrogated, abrogated by: "The Hajj is [during] well-known months."
His saying: "So what can be obtained of the sacrificial offering" It has already been interpreted.

1797 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Hafs narrated to us, from Layth, Mujahid narrated to me, from Ibn 'Abbas, similar to the hadith before it: Everything in the Quran, [if he cannot find], then the one that follows it, and if he cannot find, then the one that follows it.
1798 - Usayd ibn 'Asim narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn Hafs narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid, from Ibn 'Abbas: "So whoever cannot find," it is the first, then the next.
