It was narrated from 'Ikrimah, Mujahid, and al-Hasan similarly.
1799 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, from Abu Ja'far, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah: "So whoever cannot find"—meaning: the sacrificial offering when he is performing tamattu'. It was narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similarly.
His saying: "Then a fast of three days during the Hajj"
There is a difference of opinion regarding its interpretation, which consists of several views:
[The First View]
One of them is:
1800 - My father narrated to us, Dawud ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to me, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad, from his father, from 'Ali, that he used to say: "Then a fast of three days during the Hajj"—the day before the Day of Tarwiyah, the Day of Tarwiyah, and the Day of 'Arafah.
It was narrated from al-Sha'bi, al-Nakha'i, al-Hakam, Hammad, and Ubayy ibn al-Zubayr. He said: 'A'ishah used to say: Idle talk is only in joking.
[The Second View]
1801 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by way of reading, Ibn Wahb reported, that Malik ibn Anas narrated to him, from Ibn Shihab, from 'Urwah, from 'A'ishah, that she used to say: The fasting for one who has performed tamattu' with the 'Umrah to the Hajj, for one who cannot find [the offering], is between the time he enters into the state of Ihram for Hajj until the day of 'Arafah; if he has not fasted it, he should fast during the days of Mina.
1802 - Yunus informed us by way of reading, Ibn Wahb reported, that Malik informed him, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim ibn 'Abd Allah, from his father, similarly. Likewise, it was narrated from 'Ikrimah and al-Hasan. It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas, al-Musayyab ibn Rafi', and Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn 'Ali. It was narrated from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, and one of the two opinions of 'Ata' and Tawus, that he should fast the three days within the ten days, the last of which being the Day of 'Arafah.
[The Third View]
1803 - 'Amr al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq, who said: 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr said: He may fast the days of Tashriq, meaning His saying: "Then a fast of three days during the Hajj." It was narrated from 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr similarly.
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ وَمُجَاهِدٍ وَالْحَسَنِ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
١٧٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ: فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ يَعْنِي: الْهَدْيَ إِذَا كَانَ مُتَمَتِّعًا. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

١٨٠٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: فَصِيَامُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فِي الْحَجِّ قَبْلَ التَّرْوِيَةِ بِيَوْمٍ، وَيَوْمَ التَّرْوِيَةِ وَيَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ وَالنَّخَعِيِّ وَالْحَكَمِ وَحَمَّادٍ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَقُولُ: إِنَّمَا اللغو في المزاحة يث،
وَالْقَوْلُ الثَّانِي:
١٨٠١ - أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى قِرَاءَةً، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَنَّ مَالِكَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَقُولُ: الصِّيَامُ لِمَنْ تَمَتَّعَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ، لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْهَا مَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يُهِلَّ بِالْحَجِّ إِلَى يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَصُمْهُ، صَامَ أَيَّامَ مِنًى.
١٨٠٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ قِرَاءَةً، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَنَّ مَالِكًا أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ.
وَكَذَا رُوِيَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ وَالْحَسَنِ وَرُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَالْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ وَأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، وَأَحَدُ قَوْلَيْ عَطَاءٍ وَطَاوُسٍ، أَنَّهُ يَصُومُ الثَّلاثَةَ الأَيَّامِ فِي الْعَشْرِ، يَكُونُ آخِرَهَا يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ.
الْقَوْلُ الثَّالِثُ:
١٨٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو الأَوْدِيُّ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ: يَصُومُ أَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيقِ، يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: فَصِيَامُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فِي الْحَجِّ وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.
