His saying: And fear Me.
1844 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan: "And take provisions, for the best of provisions is taqwa, fear Allah, and do not commit injustice, and do not seize the property of those on the road." When this verse, "And take provisions," was revealed, a man from the poor Muslims stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, we do not find provisions to take with us.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Take as provision that by which you may spare your face from (asking) people, and the best of what you have taken as provision is taqwa.
[His saying: O people of understanding]
Its interpretation has preceded in verse 179.
His saying: There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord.
1845 - Al-Hasan ibn 'Arafah narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn 'Awwam narrated to us, from al-'Ala' ibn al-Musayyab, from Abu Umamah al-Taymi, who said: I said to Ibn 'Umar: We are people who hire ourselves out on this route to Makkah, and some people claim that we have no Hajj, so do you see that we have a Hajj? He said: Do you not enter into ihram, perform tawaf around the House, and fulfill the rites? I said: Yes. He said: Then you are Hajjis (pilgrims). He said: Then he said: A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and asked him about the like of what you asked, and he did not know what to reply, or he said: He did not reply to him with anything until this was revealed: "There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord." So he called the man, recited it to him, and said: You are Hajjis.
1846 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Dinar, who said: Ibn 'Abbas said: 'Ukaz, Mijannah, and Dhu al-Majaz were marketplaces during the Jahiliyyah (Pre-Islamic period). When Islam came, it was as if they disliked trading during the Hajj, so they asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and Allah the Exalted revealed: "There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord in the seasons of Hajj."
1847 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord," he says: There is no blame upon you in buying and selling, before ihram and after it.
