He caused its trees to grow, and He determined therein its sustenance—he says: its sustenance for its inhabitants—in four days, equal for those who ask—he says: whoever asks, the matter is thus.

307 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Bashir informed me, from Qatadah, regarding the saying of Allah: "It is He who created for you all that is on earth," meaning: He subjected for you all that is on earth as an honor from Allah and a blessing for the son of Adam.

His saying: "Then He directed [Himself] to the heaven."

308 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "Then He directed [Himself] to the heaven," he says: He ascended (irtafa'a). A similar account was narrated from al-Hasan and al-Rabi' ibn Anas.

His saying: "And made them seven heavens."

309 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And made them seven heavens," he said: Some of them are above others, and between every two heavens is a travel distance of five hundred years.

310 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And made them," he says: He fashioned their creation.

311 - Ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And made them seven heavens," [he said]: Some of them are above others, and seven earths, some of them below others.

His saying: "And He is, of all things, Knowing."

312 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Ata' ibn Dinar informed me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "And He is, of all things, Knowing," meaning: He is knowing of your deeds.

His saying: "And [mention] when your Lord said to the angels."

313 - Abu Bakr Abu Musa al-Ansari narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, from Asbat ibn Nasr, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: "And when" (wa idh), meaning: It had already occurred.
