His saying: "Indeed, I know that which you do not know," he said: It was among the knowledge of Allah that there would be from that Caliph, messengers, prophets, righteous people, and inhabitants of Paradise.

His saying: "And He taught Adam the names, all of them."

[The First Aspect]

336 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, Isra'il informed us from al-Suddi, from whoever narrated to him from Ibn 'Abbas: "And He taught Adam the names, all of them," he said: He presented to him the names of his children, one by one, and the beasts. So it was said: This is the donkey, this is the camel, this is the horse.

337 - My father narrated to me, 'Abd al-Mu'min ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Abd al-Salam ibn Harb al-Mula'i narrated to us from 'Asim ibn Kulayb, from Sa'id ibn Ma'bad, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And He taught Adam the names, all of them," he said: He taught him the name of the bowl and the pot. He said: Yes, even the passing of wind and the subtle passing of wind.

338 - My father narrated to me, Abu 'Abd al-Rahman 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Adhrami narrated to us, Qasim ibn Yazid al-Jarmi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "And He taught Adam the names, all of them," he said: He taught him every beast, every bird, and everything. Abu Muhammad said: It was narrated from Mujahid, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and Qatadah something similar to the saying of Ibn 'Abbas.

[The Second Aspect]

339 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Sa'id al-Jawhari narrated to us, Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri narrated to us from al-Hasan ibn Salih, from his father, from Humayd al-Shami, he said: He taught Adam the stars. Abu Muhammad said: Meaning the names of the stars.

His saying: "Then He presented them to the angels."

340 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us from Qatadah, he said: Then He presented those names to the angels and said: "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."

341 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Suddi: "And He taught Adam the names, all of them. Then He presented the creation to the angels."
