His saying: "Remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you."
434 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he said, in what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: "O People of the Book," meaning the scholars (ahbar) of the Jews: "Remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you," meaning My trial/blessing upon you and your ancestors, when He saved them from Pharaoh and his people.
435 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, he said: His favor is that He made prophets and messengers from among them and revealed the Books to them.
436 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you." The favor of Allah which He bestowed upon the Children of Israel in what He mentioned and in what is other than that: He caused water to gush forth for them from the rock, sent down Manna and Salwa (quail) upon them, and saved them from the servitude of the people of Pharaoh.
His saying: "And fulfill My covenant."
437 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And fulfill My covenant," he says: That which I commanded you with of obedience and forbade you from of disobedience regarding the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and others. It has also been narrated from al-Rabi' ibn Anas something similar, from the narration of Hatim ibn Isma'il from Abu Ja'far.
438 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, in what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "Fulfill My covenant," which I have taken upon your necks regarding the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—when he came to you.
439 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And fulfill My covenant," he said: His covenant is to worship His religion, Islam, and to follow it. It has been narrated from al-Dahhak, Qatadah, al-Suddi, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas something similar.

قَوْلُهُ: اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ
٤٣٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ، لَلأَحْبَارِ مِنْ يَهُودَ: اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَيْ بَلائِي عِنْدَكُمْ وَعِنْدَ آبَائِكُمْ لِمَا كَانَ نَجَّاهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِهِ.
٤٣٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ: نِعْمَتُهُ أَنْ جَعَلَ مِنْهُمُ الأَنْبِيَاءَ وَالرُّسُلَ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْكُتُبَ.
٤٣٦ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَوْلُهُ: يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَنِعْمَةُ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَنْعَمَ بِهَا عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فِيمَا سَمَّى وَفِيمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ، فَجَّرَ»
لَهُمُ الْحَجَرَ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَى وَأَنْجَاهُمْ مِنْ عُبُودِيَّةِ «٢» آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي
٤٣٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابٌ أَنْبَأَ بِشْرٌ عن أبى ورق عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي يَقُولُ: مَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ «٣» بِهِ مِنْ طَاعَةٍ وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ مِنْ مَعْصِيَةٍ فِي النَّبِيِّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِ. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ حاتم ابن إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ.
٤٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي الَّذِي أَخَذْتُ فِي أَعْنَاقِكُمْ لِلنَّبِيِّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- إِذْ جَاءَكُمْ.
٤٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قَوْلُهُ: وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي قَالَ عَهْدُهُ إِلَى عِبَادَةِ دِينِهِ الإِسْلامِ أَنْ يَتَّبِعُوهُ. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، وَقَتَادَةَ وَالسُّدِّيِّ، وَالرَّبِيعِ نحو ذلك.
