The Second Aspect:
452 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn Hamzah al-Marwazi narrated to us, 'Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir informed us, from Harun ibn Yazid who said: Al-Hasan was asked about His saying: "A small price," and he said: The small price is the world in its entirety.
His saying: "And of Me alone be fearful."
453 - Abu 'Umar al-Duri narrated to us, Abu Isma'il al-Mu'addib narrated to us, from 'Asim al-Ahwal, from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Talq ibn Habib who said: Piety (taqwa) is to act in obedience to Allah, hoping for the mercy of Allah, upon a light from Allah; and piety is to abandon the disobedience of Allah, fearing the punishment of Allah, upon a light from Allah.
[His saying: And do not clothe the truth with falsehood]
[The First Aspect]
454 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And do not clothe the truth with falsehood," he says: Do not mix the truth with falsehood, and offer sincere counsel to the servants of Allah regarding the affair of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
The Second Aspect:
455 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding the saying of Allah: "And do not clothe the truth with falsehood," he said: Do not clothe Judaism and Christianity with Islam; indeed, the religion of Allah is Islam, and Judaism and Christianity are innovations that are not from Allah. Abu Muhammad said: It is also narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similar to what we mentioned from Abu al-'Aliyah, and it is narrated from al-Hasan similar to the statement of Qatadah.
His saying: "And conceal the truth."
456 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding the saying of Allah: "And conceal the truth," he said: They concealed the description of Muhammad while they found it written with them.
457 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who said, in what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And conceal the truth while you know [it]," meaning: you conceal what you possess of knowledge regarding My Messenger and what he brought, while you find it with you in what you know of the Books that are in your hands.

٤٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ: سُئِلَ الْحَسَنُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: ثَمَنًا قَلِيلا قَالَ: الثَّمَنُ الْقَلِيلُ: الدُّنْيَا بِحَذَافِيرِهَا.
قَوْلُهُ: وَإِيَّايَ فَاتَّقُونِ
٤٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الدُّورِيُّ ثنا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ قَالَ: التَّقْوَى أَنْ يَعْمَلَ بِطَاعَةِ اللَّهِ رَجَاءَ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ عَلَى نُورٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَالتَّقْوَى أَنْ يَتْرُكَ مَعْصِيَةَ اللَّهِ مَخَافَةَ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ عَلَى نُورٍ مِنَ الله.

٤٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ يَقُولُ وَلا تَخْلِطُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ، وَأَدُّوا النَّصِيحَةَ لَعِبَادِ اللَّهِ فِي أَمْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٤٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا صَفْوَانُ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ:
وَلا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ قَالَ: لَا تَلْبِسُوا الْيَهُودِيَّةَ وَالنَّصْرَانِيَّةَ بِالإِسْلامِ، إِنَّ دِينَ اللَّهِ الإِسْلامُ وَالْيَهُودِيَّةُ وَالنَّصْرَانِيَّةُ بِدْعَةٌ لَيْسَتْ مِنَ اللَّهِ. قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَرُوِيَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ نَحْوُ مَا ذَكَرْنَا عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ نَحْوُ قَوْلِ قَتَادَةَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ
٤٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ قَالَ كَتَمُوا نَعْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُمْ يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ.
٤٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَيْ تَكْتُمُوا مَا عِنْدَكُمْ مِنَ الْمَعْرِفَةِ بِرَسُولِي وَبِمَا جَاءَ بِهِ وَأَنْتُمْ تَجِدُونَهُ عِنْدَكُمْ فِيمَا تَعْلَمُونَ مِنَ الْكُتُبِ الَّتِي بِأَيْدِيكُمْ.
