458 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding: "And conceal the truth," he said: The truth is Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. It was also narrated from Mujahid, Qatadah, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similar to that.

His saying: "While you know [it]"

459 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who said, in what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "While you know [it]" meaning: You find it with you in what you know of the Books that are in your hands.

460 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "While you know [it]," he said: They knew that he was the Messenger of Allah, and they concealed Islam while they knew that it was the religion of Allah.

His saying: "And establish prayer"

461 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Mubarak ibn Fadalah narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And establish prayer," he said: It is an obligatory duty; deeds are of no benefit except through it and through Zakah.

462 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim Duhaym narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Numayr narrated to us: I asked al-Zuhri about the saying of Allah: "And establish prayer." Al-Zuhri said: Establishing it is to perform the five prayers at their designated times. Abu Sa'id said: Similar to this was narrated from 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah and Qatadah, similar to the statement of al-Hasan.

463 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Abu Hab informed us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan who said: His saying to the People of the Book: "Establish prayer," He commanded them to pray with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

His saying: "And give Zakah"

[The First Aspect]

464 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And give Zakah," he meant: Zakah is obedience to Allah and sincerity (ikhlas).
