494 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Jarir informed us, from Ya'qub, from Ja'far, from Sa'id, regarding His saying: "Who are certain that they will meet their Lord," he said: Those who sold their souls for Allah, and prepared them for death. Abu Muhammad said: Something similar to what we have narrated from Abu al-'Aliyah has been narrated from Mujahid, al-Suddi, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and Qatadah.
His saying: "And that they will return to Him"
495 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And that they will return to Him," he said: They are certain that they will return to Him on the Day of Resurrection.
His saying: "O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you"
496 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Sa'id informed us, from Qatadah, that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, when he would recite: "Remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you," he would say: The people have passed away, and He only means by it you.
The interpretation of this verse has already preceded.
His saying: "And that I favored you over the worlds"
497 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah: "And that I favored you over the worlds," he said: By what they were given of kingship, messengers, and scriptures over the world of those who were in that time; for every time has a world. Abu Muhammad said: Similar to this has been narrated from Mujahid, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, Qatadah, and Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid.
His saying: "And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all"
498 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad ibn Talhah narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all." As for "suffice" (tajzi), it means to avail (tughni). Sa'id ibn Jubayr and Abu Malik interpreted it likewise.
His saying: "No soul for another soul at all"
499 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa al-Ansari narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik: Regarding His saying: "No soul will suffice for another soul at all," he means: No believing soul will avail a disbelieving soul anything of benefit.

٤٩٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ أَنْبَأَ جَرِيرٌ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ فِي قوله: الذين يظنون أنهم ملاقوا رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ الَّذِينَ شَرَوْا أَنْفُسَهُمْ لِلَّهِ، وَوَطَّنُوهَا عَلَى الْمَوْتِ- قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَالسُّدِّيِّ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَقَتَادَةَ نَحْوُ مَا رَوِينَا عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
٤٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ قَالَ يَسْتَيْقِنُونَ أَنَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.
قَوْلُهُ: يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ
٤٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا صَفْوَانُ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ كَانَ إِذَا تَلا: اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ قَالَ: مَضَى الْقَوْمُ، وَإِنَّمَا يَعْنِي بِهِ أَنْتُمْ.
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ تَفْسِيرُ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَأَنِّي فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ
٤٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ:
وَأَنِّي فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ قَالَ بِمَا أُعْطُوا مِنَ الْمُلْكِ وَالرُّسُلِ وَالْكُتُبِ عَلَى عَالَمِ مَنْ كَانَ فِي ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانِ، فَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ زَمَانٍ عَالَمًا- قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَقَتَادَةَ «١» وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلَه: وَاتَّقُوا يَوْمًا لَا تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَنْ نَفْسٍ شَيْئًا
٤٩٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ:
وَاتَّقُوا يَوْمًا لَا تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَنْ نَفْسٍ شَيْئًا أَمَّا تَجْزِي، فَتُغْنِي. وَكَذَا فَسَّرَهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ وَأَبُو مَالِكٍ.
قَوْلُهُ: نَفْسٌ عَنْ نَفْسٍ شَيْئًا
٤٩٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ: قَوْلُهُ: لَا تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَنْ نَفْسٍ شَيْئًا يَعْنِي لَا تُغْنِي نَفْسٌ مُؤْمِنَةٌ عَنْ نَفْسٍ كَافِرَةٍ من المنفعة شيئا.
