500 - al-Hasan ibn Ahmad Abu Fatimah narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bashshar al-Wasiti narrated to us, Surur ibn al-Mughirah narrated to me, from 'Abbad ibn Mansur, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "And no intercession will be accepted from it," he said: The Day of Resurrection is a day in which the intercession of an intercessor will not benefit anyone. Abu Muhammad said: He means among the disbelievers.
His saying: "And no compensation will be accepted from it"
[The first interpretation]
501 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And no compensation will be accepted from it," he means: a ransom. Similar to this has been narrated from Abu Malik, al-Hasan, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, Qatadah, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas.
The second interpretation:
502 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, al-Thawri informed us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, from 'Ali, in a long hadith: "And the exchange (sarf) and the compensation ('adl): the supererogatory (tatawwu') and the obligatory (faridah)."
503 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Dahhak narrated to us, al-Walid—meaning Ibn Muslim—narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'Atikah narrated to us, from 'Umayr ibn Hani', regarding His saying: "And no intercession will be accepted from it, and no compensation will be accepted from it," he said: Neither an obligatory act nor a supererogatory one.
His saying: "And they will not be aided"
