Translation · EN

And that record will be upon their necks. Then they will say: "O our Lord, erase this record from us," and He will erase it from them.

Regarding His saying, the Almighty: "And those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups."

18413 - My father narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Asim ibn Damrah, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying, the Almighty: "And those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups." He said: They will be driven until they reach a gate of the gates of Paradise. They will find a tree by it, from beneath whose trunk two springs flow. They will betake themselves to one of them and purify themselves from it, and it will cause the luster of delight to flow over them. Their skins will never be changed after that, and their hair will never become disheveled after that, as if they had been anointed with oil. Then they will betake themselves to the other as if they were commanded to, and they will drink from it, and it will remove whatever filth or impurity was in their bellies. The angels will meet them at the gates of Paradise: "Peace be upon you; you have become pure, so enter it to abide therein eternally." Every servant (of the believers) will meet his master, and they will circle him. The servants will act with the intimate friend (the believer) who comes from the hidden/absence: "Rejoice! Allah has prepared for you such and such of honor; Allah has prepared for you such and such of honor." He said: A servant from among his servants will go to his wives from the Houris and say: "This is so-and-so"—calling him by his name in the world. They will say: "You saw him?" He will say: "Yes." Joy will lighten them until they go out to the threshold of the door. He said: He will come and find cushions arranged, and cups placed, and carpets spread. He said: Then he will look at the foundation of his building, and behold, it is founded on blocks of pearl—between red, green, and yellow, and of every color. Then he will lift his gaze to its ceiling, and were it not that Allah had destined it for him, it would have taken away his sight; it is like lightning. Then he will look at his wives from the Houris, then he will recline on one of his couches, then he will say: "Praise be to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us..." to the end of the verse.

As for His saying, the Almighty: "And its gates will be opened."

18414 - From Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: Paradise has eight gates. A gate for those who pray, a gate for those who fast, a gate for the pilgrims (Hajj), a gate for the performers of 'Umrah, a gate for the strivers (Mujahidin), a gate for those who remember (Dhakirin), and a gate for those who are grateful (Shakirin).
