And you will be presented to Allah, and over your mouths will be a seal (fidam). Indeed, the first thing that will speak regarding one of you will be his thigh and his palm." And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, recited: "And you were not covering yourselves, lest your hearing, your sights, and your skins would testify against you."

- From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that he said to Ibn al-Azraq: "Indeed, the Day of Resurrection will come upon people, during which they will not speak, offer excuses, or talk until they are given permission. Then they will argue, and the denier will deny his polytheism toward Allah the Almighty. They will swear to Him just as they swear to you. So Allah will send against them, when they deny, witnesses from themselves: their skins, their sights, their hands, and their feet, and He will seal their mouths. Then the mouths will be opened, and the limbs will argue, saying: 'Allah, who has made all things speak, has made us speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.' Then the tongues will confess after that."

- Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahim narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Qadim narrated to us, Shariq narrated to us, from 'Ubayd al-Maktab, from al-Sha'bi, from Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, laughed one day and smiled, then said: 'Will you not ask me what I laughed at?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what did you laugh at?' He said: 'I marveled at the slave's arguing with his Lord on the Day of Resurrection. He says: "O my Lord, did You not promise me that You would not treat me unjustly?" He says: "Yes." He says: "Then I do not accept any witness against me except from myself." So Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, says: "Does it not suffice that I am a witness, and the noble recording angels?" He says: 'He repeats this statement several times.' He said: 'Then a seal is placed upon his mouth, and his limbs will speak of what he used to do. He says: "Away with you and ruin! It was you I was arguing for."'

- My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Isma'il ibn 'Ulayyah narrated to us, from Yunus ibn 'Ubayd, from Humayd ibn Hilal, who said: Abu Burdah said: Abu Musa said: "The disbeliever and the hypocrite will be summoned for the reckoning, and his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, will present his deeds to him. He will deny them and say: 'O my Lord, by Your might, this angel has written against me what I did not do!' The angel will say to him: 'Did you not do such and such on such a day in such a place?' He will say: 'No, by Your might, O my Lord, I did not do it.' When he does that, a seal is placed upon his mouth." Al-Ash'ari said: "I reckon that the first part of him that will speak will be his right thigh."

- My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us:
