His saying, the Almighty: "And He responds to those who have believed and done righteous deeds and increases them from His bounty."
18479 - From Salamah ibn Sayyar, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: Mu'adh, may Allah be pleased with him, addressed us and said: "You are the believers, and you are the people of Paradise. By Allah, I truly hope that the majority of those you appoint in Persia and Rome are among the people of Paradise; for one of them does a good deed, and it is said, 'You have done well, may Allah bless you; you have done well, may Allah have mercy on you.' And Allah says: 'And He responds to those who have believed and done righteous deeds and increases them from His bounty.'"
His saying, the Almighty: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much."
18480 - My father narrated to us, Mansur ibn Abi Muzahim narrated to us, Abu Sa'id ibn Abi al-Waddah narrated to us, from Abu al-Hasan, from Abu Juhayfah, who said: I entered upon Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, and he said: "Shall I not tell you a hadith that every believer should preserve?" He said: So we asked him, and he recited this verse: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much." He said: "Whatever Allah punishes for in this world, Allah is too forbearing to repeat the punishment for it on the Day of Resurrection. And whatever He pardons in this world, Allah is too generous to revert on His pardon on the Day of Resurrection."
18481 - Amr ibn Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Muslim, from al-Hasan—he is al-Basri—who said regarding His saying: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much." He said: When it was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no scratch of a branch, nor a twitch of a vein, nor a stumble of a foot, except for a sin; and what Allah pardons is more."
18482 - My father narrated to us, Umar ibn Ali narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, from Mansur, from al-Hasan, from Imran ibn Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: Some of his companions came to him when he had been afflicted in his body, and one of them said to him, "We feel sorrow for you because of what we see in you." He said: "Do not feel sorrow for what you see, for what you see is due to a sin, and what Allah pardons is more." Then he recited this verse: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much."
