His saying, the Almighty: "And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith."

18683 - From 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: "Verily, Allah will elevate the descendants of the believer to his degree, even if they were below him in deeds, so that his eyes may be gladdened by them." Then he recited: "And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith, We will join their descendants with them, and We will not deprive them of any of their deeds."(1)

18684 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid al-Bayruti narrated to us, Yahya ibn Shu'ayb informed me, Shayban informed me, Layth informed me, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit al-Asadi, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted and Almighty: "And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith, We will join their descendants with them," he said: They are the descendants of the believer who die upon faith. If the dwellings of their fathers are higher than their own dwellings, they will be joined with their fathers, and nothing will be diminished from the deeds they performed.(2)

His saying, the Almighty: "No vain speech therein, nor any sin."

18685 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "No vain speech therein," he says: There is no falsehood therein, nor any sin.(3)

His saying, the Almighty: "So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire."

18686 - 'Amr ibn 'Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu al-Duha, from Masruq, from 'A'ishah: That she recited this verse: "So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. Indeed, we used to supplicate to Him before; indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." Then she said: "O Allah, confer favor upon us and protect us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire, for You are the Beneficent, the Merciful." It was said to al-A'mash: "In the prayer?" He said: "Yes."(4)
