His saying, the Almighty: "Hastening toward the caller."

18702 - My father narrated to us, Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Adhrami narrated to us, al-Qasim ibn Yazid al-Jarmi narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from Salim, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Hastening toward the caller," he said: Peace. The 'junub' (the ones who are) are the swift ones.(1)

18703 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Hastening toward the caller," he said: Looking.(2)

His saying, the Almighty: "So We opened the gates of the heaven."

18704 - From Abu al-Tufayl that Ibn al-Kawwa' asked 'Ali about the Milky Way, and he said: It is the fissure of the heaven, and from it the gates of the heaven were opened with water pouring forth. Then he recited: "So We opened the gates of the heaven" [to the end of the] verse.(3)

18705 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "So We opened the gates of the heaven," and the gates of the heaven were opened with water without clouds that day, so the two waters met.(4)

18706 - That Ibn al-Kawwa' asked 'Ali about the Milky Way, and he said: It is the fissure of the heaven, and from it the heaven was opened with water pouring forth, "And We carried him upon a [vessel] made of planks and nails." Ibn 'Abbas, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Qurazi, Qatadah, and Ibn Zayd said: They are the nails.(5)

His saying, the Almighty: "Is there any that will receive admonition?"

18707 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn Rafi' narrated to us, Damrah narrated to us, from Ibn Shawdhab, from Matar—he is al-Warraq—regarding the saying of the Almighty: "Is there any that will receive admonition?" Is there any seeker of knowledge so that he may be helped with it?(6)

His saying, the Almighty: "On a day of continuous misfortune."

18708 - From Zirr ibn Hubaysh regarding "On a day of continuous misfortune," he said: Wednesday.(7)

18709 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us.
