His saying, the Almighty: "The sun and the moon move by precise calculation."

18716 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "The sun and the moon move by precise calculation," he said: By calculation and stations.(1)

His saying, the Almighty: "And the stars and the trees, both bow down in prostration."

18717 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And the stars and the trees, both bow down in prostration," he said: The star (najm) is that which spreads upon the earth, and the tree (shajar) is that which has a trunk.(2)

His saying, the Almighty: "And establish weight with justice."

18718 - From Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, that he saw a man weighing something and he had caused the scale to tip. He said: "Set the scale upright as Allah has said: 'And establish weight with justice.'"(3)

His saying, the Almighty: "And the earth He has laid out for the creatures (al-anam)."

18719 - From Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, regarding His saying: "And the earth He has laid out for the creatures," he said: For the people.(4)

18720 - From Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them: "And the earth He has laid out for the creatures," he said: For the creation.(5)

His saying, the Almighty: "And the date-palms having sheaths."

18721 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And the date-palms having sheaths," he said: The husks of the spathe.(6)
