Volume 10 · Page 187[Surah Ar-Rahman (55): Verse 58]

Translation · EN

His saying, the Almighty: "As if they were rubies and coral."

18747 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Ubaydah ibn Humayd narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from 'Amr ibn Maymun al-Awdi, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said: "Indeed, a woman from the women of the people of Paradise will have the whiteness of her shank seen from behind seventy garments of silk until her marrow is seen." This is because Allah the Almighty says: "As if they were rubies and coral." As for the ruby, it is a stone that, if you were to insert a thread into it and then clarify it, you would see it from behind it. (1)

18748 - From Ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, a woman from the women of the people of Paradise will have the whiteness of her shank seen from behind seventy garments, until her marrow is seen. This is because Allah says: "As if they were rubies and coral." As for the ruby, it is a stone that, if you were to insert a thread into it and then clarify it, you would see it from behind it. (2)

His saying, the Almighty: "Is there any reward for good other than good?"

18749 - From Ibn 'Umar who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said regarding His saying: "Is there any reward for good other than good?" The Messenger of Allah said: "Is there any reward for those whom I have favored, among those who said: 'There is no god but Allah' in the world, other than Paradise in the Hereafter?" (3)

His saying, the Almighty: "Dark green."

18750 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Dark green," he said: Two green ones. (4)

18751 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Dark green," he said: They have turned black from the intensity of the greenness that comes from the abundance of water. (5)

18752 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "Dark green," he said: Two green ones. (6)

His saying, the Almighty: "Gushing."

18753 - From al-Bara' ibn 'Azib who said: The two springs that flow in the gardens are better than those that merely gush. (7)
