His saying, the Almighty: "Is it you who brought it down from the rain clouds?"
18798 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding [the verse] "Is it you who brought it down from the rain clouds?" he said: The clouds (1).
18799 - From Abu Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that when he drank water, he would say: "Praise be to Allah who has given us fresh, sweet water to drink by His mercy, and did not make it salty and bitter due to our sins." (2)
His saying, the Almighty: "We have made it a reminder and a provision for the travelers."
18800 - Through various chains, from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding "We have made it a reminder," he said: A reminder of the Great Fire. And regarding "and a provision for the travelers," he said: For the travelers (3).
His saying, the Almighty: "Is it you who grow it, or are We the growers?"
18802 - My father narrated to us, [saying] Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, [saying] Hammad narrated to us, from 'Ata', from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman: Do not say 'We have farmed' (zara'na), but say 'We have tilled' (harathna) (4).
18803 - My father narrated to us, [saying] 'Uthman ibn Sa'id ibn Murrah narrated to us, [saying] Fudayl ibn Marzuq narrated to us, from Jabir, from Abu Ja'far, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that when he drank water, he would say: "Praise be to Allah who has given us it to drink fresh by His mercy, and did not make it salty and bitter due to our sins" (5).
His saying, the Almighty: "So I swear by the setting of the stars."
18804 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "So I swear by the setting of the stars," he said: The Qur'an. "And indeed, it is an oath—if you could know—[most] great," he said: The Qur'an (6).
His saying, the Almighty: "The flatterers."
18805 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "Are you then neglectful of this statement?" he said: You deny it (7).
18806 - Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, [saying] Isra'il narrated to us, from 'Abd al-A'la, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "And you make your provision [for thanks]"—he says: your gratitude—"that you deny [the truth], saying: 'We were given rain by the rising of such-and-such star, and by the star of such-and-such'" (8).

قوله تعالى: أأنتم أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ
١٨٧٩٨ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ قَالَ:
السَّحَابُ «١» .
١٨٧٩٩ - عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا شَرِبَ الْمَاءَ قَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي سَقَانَا عَذْبًا فُرَاتًا بِرَحْمَتِهِ، وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْهُ مِلْحًا أُجَاجًا بِذُنُوبِنَا «٢» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِلْمُقْوِينَ
١٨٨٠٠ - طرق، عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً قَالَ:
تَذْكِرَةً لِلنَّارِ الْكُبْرَى ومتاعا للمقوين قَالَ: لِلْمُسَافِرِينَ «٣» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ
١٨٨٠٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ لَا تَقُولُوا زَرَعْنَا، وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا حَرَثْنَا «٤» .
١٨٨٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- أَنَّهُ إِذَا شَرِبَ الْمَاءَ قَالَ: «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي سَقَانَاهُ عَذْبًا بِرَحْمَتِهِ، وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْهُ مِلْحًا أُجَاجًا بِذُنُوبِنَا» «٥» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَلا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ
١٨٨٠٤ - عَنِ ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما في قوله: فَلا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ قَالَ: الْقُرْآنُ وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ قَالَ: الْقُرْآنُ «٦» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: مُدْهِنُونَ
١٨٨٠٥ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَفَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنْتُمْ مُدْهِنُونَ قَالَ: مُكَذِّبُونَ «٧» .
١٨٨٠٦ - حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وسلم-: وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ يَقُولُ: شُكْرَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ تَقُولُونَ: مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، بِنَجْمِ كَذَا وَكَذَا» «٨» .
