19167 - My father narrated to us, Muḥammad b. al-Ṣabbāḥ al-Bazzār narrated to us, al-Walīd b. Abī Thawr narrated to us, from Simāk, from al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr, that he said: The Messenger of Allāh (may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said regarding: "And when the souls are paired," [that] he said: "The counterparts, every man with every people who used to perform his deeds." That is because Allāh the Almighty says: "And you become three kinds [of people]: the Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? And the Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? And the Foremost, the Foremost." He said: "They are the counterparts."

19168 - My father narrated to us, ʿAbd Allāh b. Rajāʾ narrated to us, Qays b. al-Rabīʿ narrated to us, from al-Agharr b. al-Ṣabbāḥ, from Khalīfah b. Ḥuṣayn, who said: Qays b. ʿĀṣim came to the Messenger of Allāh (may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allāh, I buried twelve or thirteen of my daughters during the Jāhiliyyah (pre-Islamic era)." He said: "Free a number of souls equal to them." He said: So he freed a number of souls equal to them. When the following year came, he brought one hundred camels and said: "O Messenger of Allāh, this is the charity of my people [given] after what I did to the Muslims." ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib said: So we used to shelter them and name them 'al-Qaysiyyah.'

19169 - My father narrated to us, ʿAbdah narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubārak narrated to us, Muḥammad b. Muṭarrif informed us, from Zayd b. Aslam, from his father, who said: When "When the sun is wrapped up (kuwwirat)" was revealed, ʿUmar said—when it reached: "Each soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]"—he said: "It is for this [moment] that the discourse was conducted."

19170 - From Abū Isḥāq, from a man from Murād, from ʿAlī regarding: "So I swear by the retreating stars, those that run [and] set," he said: "They are the stars that retreat during the day and appear at night."

19171 - Abū Kurayb narrated to us, Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Isrāʾīl, from Simāk, from Khālid, from ʿAlī, who said: "They are the stars."
