His statement, the Almighty: "The piercing star." His statement: "There is no soul but that it has a protector over it."

19212 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His statement: "The piercing star," he said: The illuminating star. "There is no soul but that it has a protector over it," he said: There is no soul but that it has a protector over it.

His statement, the Almighty: "So let man observe from what he was created."

He said: He is Abū al-Ashaddayn. He used to stand on a hide and say: "O assembly of Quraysh, whoever can remove me from it, he shall have such and such."

His statement, the Almighty: "He is created from a fluid, ejected, emerging from between the backbone and the ribs."

19213 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His statement: "Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs," he said: The man's backbone and the woman's ribs; the child is only created from both.

His statement, the Almighty: "The ribs."

19214 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His statement: "And the ribs," he said: The woman's rib area (tarībah), which is the place of the necklace.

His statement, the Almighty: "By the sky which returns" to His statement: "And the earth which cracks."

19215 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His statement: "By the sky which returns," he said: Rain after rain. "And the earth which cracks," he said: Its cracking for vegetation.
