Translation · EN

His statement, the Exalted: "And [by] the night when it passes."

19246 - On the authority of ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr regarding "And [by] the night when it passes," he said: When it passes.

19247 - On the authority of Mujāhid regarding "And [by] the night when it passes," he said: When it passes.

19248 - Aḥmad ibn ʿIṣām narrated to us, Abū ʿĀmir narrated to us, Kathīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr narrated to us, saying: I heard Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Quraẓī saying regarding His statement: "And [by] the night when it passes," he said: Pass, O passer, and do not part except at the gathering (Jamʿ).

19249 - On the authority of ʿIkrimah regarding "And [by] the night when it passes," he said: The night of the gathering (Jamʿ).

His statement, the Exalted: "Is there [not] in that an oath for one of perception?"

19250 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His statement: "an oath for one of perception," he said: For one of intelligence, intellect, and restraint.

19251 - On the authority of al-Ḥasan regarding "one of perception," he said: For one of forbearance.

19252 - On the authority of Abū Mālik regarding "one of perception," he said: A veil from the Fire.

His statement, the Exalted: "Iram - who had lofty pillars"

19253 - On the authority of Mujāhid regarding His statement: "Iram," he said: A nation. Regarding "who had lofty pillars," he said: It had a stature in the sky.

19254 - My father narrated to us, Abū Ṣāliḥ the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated to us, from whoever narrated to him, from al-Miqdām, from the Prophet, may Allāh bless him and grant him peace, that he mentioned Iram, who had lofty pillars, and said: A man among them would come upon a rock and carry it upon the tribe, thus destroying them.

19255 - ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to us, Abū al-Ṭāhir narrated to us, Anas ibn ʿIyāḍ narrated to us, from Thawr ibn Zayd al-Dīlī, who said: I read a book that named where it read: I am Shaddād ibn ʿĀd, and I am the one who raised the pillars, and I am the one who strengthened with my arm with one look, and I am the one who hoarded a treasure seven cubits [deep]; no one shall extract it except the nation of Muḥammad, may Allāh bless him and grant him peace.
