19347 - On the authority of ʿIkrimah regarding: "And he has failed who instills it [with corruption] (dassāhā)," he said: Whoever loses it.

19348 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His saying: "He has succeeded who purifies it," he says: He has succeeded whose soul Allāh has purified. "And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]," he says: He has failed whom Allāh has caused his soul to be instilled [with corruption], so He misled him. "And He does not fear its consequences," he said: He does not fear any repercussions from anyone.

19349 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding: "And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]," meaning: He has deceived it.

19350 - Hishām narrated to us, from his father, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Zamʿah, he said: The Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) delivered a sermon and mentioned the she-camel, and he mentioned the one who hamstrung it, and said: "When there arose the most wicked man, powerful and mighty among his tribe, like Abū Zamʿah."

19351 - On the authority of al-Ḍaḥḥāk, from Ibn ʿAbbās: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) saying regarding: "He has succeeded who purifies it," [the verse]: "Succeeded is the soul which Allāh has purified, and failed is the soul which Allāh has deprived of all good."

19352 - Abū Zurʿah narrated to us, Ibrāhīm ibn Mūsā narrated to us, ʿĪsā ibn Yūnus narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq narrated to us, Yazīd ibn Muḥammad ibn Khuthaym narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Quraẓī, from Muḥammad ibn Khuthaym Abū Yazīd, from ʿAmmār ibn Yāsir, he said: The Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said to ʿAlī: "Shall I not tell you who the most wretched of people is?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Two men: the reddish man of Thamūd who hamstrung the she-camel, and the one who will strike you, O ʿAlī, upon this"—meaning his crown (head)—"until this becomes wet from it," meaning his beard.

19353 - On the authority of al-Ḥasan regarding: "And He does not fear its consequences," he said: That is our Lord; He does not fear any repercussions from them for what He did to them.

19354 - On the authority of al-Suddī regarding: "And He does not fear its consequences," he said: He who hamstrung it did not fear the consequence of what he did.
