And as for he who withholds, he said: From the right of Allāh that is upon him, and considers himself free of need in his own self from his Lord, and denies the best [reward], he said: From the promise of Allāh which He has promised.
19363 - Abū Zurʿah narrated to us, [saying]: Ṣafwān ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Dimashqī narrated to us, [saying]: al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, [saying]: Zuhayr ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, [saying]: He who heard Abū al-ʿĀliyah al-Riyāḥī narrating from Ubayy ibn Kaʿb, he said: I asked the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) about the "best [reward]" (al-ḥusnā), and he said: The "best [reward]" is Paradise.
19364 - On the authority of Zayd ibn Aslam regarding "We will ease him toward ease," he said: Paradise.
19365 - al-Ḥasan ibn Salamah ibn Abī Kabshah narrated to us, [saying]: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿAmr narrated to us, [saying]: ʿAbbād ibn Rāshid narrated to us from Qatādah, [saying]: Khulayd al-ʿAṣarī narrated to me from Abū al-Dardāʾ, he said: The Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: "There is no day upon which the sun rises except that there are two angels on its two sides calling out—and all of Allāh's creation hears them except the two weights (humanity and jinn): 'O Allāh, grant the one who spends [in charity] a successor, and grant the one who withholds [his wealth] destruction.'" And Allāh revealed about that in the Qurʾān: "As for he who gives and fears Allāh, and believes in the best [reward], We will ease him toward ease. But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need, and denies the best [reward], We will ease him toward difficulty."
His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, upon Us is the guidance."
19366 - On the authority of Qatādah regarding His saying: "Indeed, upon Us is the guidance," he says: It is upon Allāh to clarify—to clarify His lawful and His prohibited [actions], and His obedience and His disobedience.
His saying, the Almighty: "But the righteous one will avoid it."
19367 - On the authority of ʿUrwah that Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq freed seven [slaves], all of whom were being tortured for the sake of Allāh: Bilāl, ʿĀmir ibn Fuhayrah, al-Nahdiyyah and her daughter, Zinnīrah, Umm ʿĪsā, and the slave woman of the Banū al-Muʾammil; and regarding him was revealed: "But the righteous one will avoid it," until the end of the Sūrah.
His saying, the Almighty: "[But] none will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. Who had denied and turned away."
19368 - On the authority of Abū Umāmah, he said: No one will remain from this nation except that Allāh will enter him into Paradise, except for the one who bolts away from Allāh just as the bad camel bolts away from its owners. Whoever does not believe me, then Allāh the Almighty says: "[But] none will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. Who had denied and turned away," meaning: None will burn therein except the most wretched one who denied what Muḥammad (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) brought and turned away from it.
