Sūrat al-Tīn
95
His saying, the Almighty: "By the fig," up to His saying: "Then what causes you to deny after this with the Recompense?"
19402 - On the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His saying: "By the fig," he said: It is the mosque of Nūḥ which was built at the top of al-Jūdī. "And the olive," he said: It is Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). "And [by] Mount Sīnīn," he said: It is the Mosque of the Mount (al-Ṭūr). "And this secure city," he said: It is Makkah. "We have certainly created man in the best of stature. Then We return him to the lowest of the low," he says: He is returned to the most decrepit [stage of] life, having aged until his intellect is gone. They were a group who were present during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was asked when their intellects became impaired, so Allah revealed their excuse: that they shall have their reward for what they did before their intellects were gone. "Then what causes you to deny after this with the Recompense?" He says: With the judgment of Allah.
His saying, the Almighty: "By the fig and the olive, and [by] Mount Sīnīn, and this secure city, We have certainly created man in the best of stature."
19403 - On the authority of Qatādah regarding His saying: "By the fig," he said: The fig is the mountain upon which Damascus is located. "And the olive" is that upon which Bayt al-Maqdis is located. "And [by] Mount Sīnīn," he said: A blessed, beautiful mountain in al-Shām (the Levant) that has trees. "And this secure city," he said: It is Makkah. "We have certainly created man in the best of stature."
19404 - On the authority of Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb, he said: "By the fig" is the mosque of the People of the Cave. "And the olive" is the mosque of Aelia (Jerusalem). "And [by] Mount Sīnīn" is the mosque of the Mount (al-Ṭūr). "And this secure city" is Makkah.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَي: وَالتِّينِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِالدِّينِ
١٩٤٠٢ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَالتِّينِ قَالَ: مَسْجِدُ نُوحٍ الَّذِي بُنِيَ بِأَعْلَى الْجُودِيِّ وَالزَّيْتُونِ قَالَ: بَيْتُ الْمَقْدِسِ وَطُورِ سِينِينَ قَالَ: مَسْجِدُ الطُّورِ وَهَذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ قَالَ: مَكَّةُ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَاهُ أَسْفَلَ سَافِلِينَ يَقوُلُ: يُرَدُّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ، كَبُرَ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ عَقْلُهُ، هُمْ نَفَرٌ كَانُوا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ تَسَفَّهَتْ عُقُولُهُمْ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عُذْرَهُمْ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرَهُمُ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَذْهَبَ عُقُولُهُمْ فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِالدِّينِ يَقُولُ:
بِحُكْمِ اللَّهِ «١» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ وَطُورِ سِينِينَ وَهَذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ
١٩٤٠٣ - عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَالتِّينِ قَالَ: التِّينُ الْجَبَلُ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ دِمَشْقُ وَالزَّيْتُونِ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ بَيْتُ الْمَقْدِسِ وَطُورِ سِينِينَ قَالَ: جَبَلٌ بِالشَّامِ مُبَارَكٌ حَسَنٌ ذُو شَجَرٍ وَهَذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ قَالَ: مَكَّةُ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ «٢» .
١٩٤٠٤ - عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ: وَالتِّينِ مَسْجِدُ أَصْحَابِ الْكَهْفِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ مَسْجِدُ إِيلْيَا وَطُورِ سِينِينَ مَسْجِدُ الطُّورِ وَهَذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ مَكَّةُ «٣» .
