Translation · EN

The saying of the Almighty: "Exclusively for you, excluding the believers."

17723 - From Mujahid, may God be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "...if she gives herself to the Prophet," he said: It was made lawful for him without a dowry, and this was not made lawful for him except as "Exclusively for you, excluding the believers." He said: It is specific to the Prophet (peace be upon him). (1)

17724 - From Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: The one who gave herself to the Prophet (peace be upon him) was Khawla bint Hakim. (2)

17725 - From Urwa, may God be pleased with him: Indeed Khawla bint Hakim ibn al-Aqwas was among those who gave themselves to the Messenger of God (peace be upon him). (3)

17726 - From Muhammad ibn Ka'b, Umar ibn al-Hakam, and Abdullah ibn Ubaydah, they said: The Messenger of God (peace be upon him) married thirteen women. Six from Quraysh: Khadija, Aisha, Hafsa, Umm Habiba, Sawda, and Umm Salama. Three from Banu Amir ibn Sa'sa'a; two women from Banu Hilal: Maymuna bint al-Harith, and she is the one who gave herself to the Prophet (peace be upon him); and Zaynab, Umm al-Masakin, and she is the one who chose the worldly life; and a woman from Banu al-Harith, and she is the one who sought refuge from him; and Zaynab bint Jahsh; and the two captives: Safiyya bint Huyayy and Juwayriyya bint al-Harith al-Khuza'iyya. (4)

17727 - Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Ahmasi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to me, Musa ibn Ubayda narrated to me, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b, Umar ibn al-Hakam, and Abdullah ibn Ubaydah, they said: The Messenger of God (peace be upon him) married thirteen women. The two captives: Safiyya bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab and Juwayriyya bint al-Harith ibn Amr ibn al-Mustaliq al-Khuza'iyya. (5)
