His saying, the Almighty: "And they said, 'Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow.'"
17994 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding the statement of the people of Paradise when they enter Paradise and say, "Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow"—he said: They are a people who used to fear Allah in the world, and they used to strive for Him in worship, both secretly and openly. In their hearts was sorrow for the sins they had committed in the past, and they were fearful that this striving would not be accepted from them due to the sins that had passed. Thus, they said, "Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow. Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative," [meaning] He forgave us for the great [sins] and appreciated the small amount of our deeds.
17995 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may God be pleased with both of them) regarding His saying: "Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow"—he said: The sorrow of the Fire.
17996 - From Shimr ibn 'Attiyah (may God be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow"—he said: Hunger.
17997 - From al-Sha'bi (may God be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow"—he said: Seeking bread in the world; so we do not worry about it as we used to worry about seeking food and dinner in the world.
17998 - From Ibrahim al-Taymi (may God be pleased with him) he said: It behooves one who is sorrowful to fear that he might not be among the people of Paradise, because they said, "Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow," and it behooves one who is apprehensive to fear that he might not be among the people of Paradise, because they said, "Indeed, we were previously among our people, apprehensive [of Allah]."
His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative."
17999 - From Abu Rafi' (may God be pleased with him) he said: On the Day of Resurrection, the servant will come with three scrolls: a scroll containing His blessings, a scroll containing his sins, and a scroll containing his good deeds. It will be said to the smallest blessing upon him: "Arise and collect your price from his good deeds." It will rise and claim all of his good deeds, while the rest of the blessings remain against him, and his sins remain complete. Thus, the servant says when God admits him into Paradise: "Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative."
18000 - From Qatadah (may God be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative," he says:
