His saying, the Exalted: "And they are for them a host held in readiness."

18118 - From al-Hasan, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "And they are for them a host held in readiness," he said: "They are a host for them in this world, and they will be held in readiness in the Fire."

18119 - From al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "And they are for them a host held in readiness," meaning for their gods whom they worship; they defend them and protect them.

His saying, the Exalted: "Does not man see that We have created him from a drop of fluid?"

18120 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: "Al-'As ibn Wa'il came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with a decayed bone, which he crumbled with his hand and said: 'O Muhammad, will Allah revive this after I see it?' He (the Prophet) said: 'Yes. Allah will resurrect this, then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you to life, then He will admit you into the Fire of Hell.' Then the verses from the end of Surah Ya-Sin were revealed: 'Does not man see that We have created him from a drop of fluid? Yet then he is an open disputant,' until the end of the Surah."

18121 - From Mujahid, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "And he presents for Us an example," he said: "Ubayy ibn Khalaf came with a bone and said: 'O Muhammad, do you promise us that if we die and become like this decayed bone?'—and he crumbled it in his hand—'and he said: Who will revive us when we are like this?'"

18122 - From al-Suddi, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "Does not man see that We have created him from a drop of fluid?" he said: "It was revealed concerning Ubayy ibn Khalaf, who came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with a bone that had become worn out. He began to crumble it between his fingers and said: 'O Muhammad, are you the one who says that this will be revived after it has decayed?' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Yes, He will certainly cause the other to die, then He will revive him, then He will admit him into the Fire.'"

His saying, the Exalted: "And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation."

18123 - From 'Ikrimah, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: "Ubayy ibn Khalaf came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with a decayed bone in his hand and said: 'O Muhammad, how can Allah revive this?' So Allah revealed: 'And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation.' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: 'He created it before; I am amazed at his questioning its revival when it had already been.'"

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُحْضَرُونَ

١٨١١٨ - عَنِ الحَسَنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ، عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُحْضَرُونَ قَالَ: هُمْ لَهُمْ جُنْدٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ مُحْضَرُونَ فِي النَّارِ «١» .

١٨١١٩ - عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُحْضَرُونَ لِآلِهَتِهِمُ الَّتِي يَعْبُدُونَ، يَدْفَعُونَ، عَنْهُمْ، وَيَمْنَعُونَهُمْ «٢» .

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ

١٨١٢٠ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ، عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: جَاءَ الْعَاصِي بْنُ وَائِلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَظْمٍ حَائِلٍ، فَفَتَّهُ بِيَدِهِ فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَيُحْيِي اللَّهُ هَذَا بعد ما أَرَى؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ يَبْعَثُ اللَّهُ هَذَا، ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكَ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكَ ثُمَّ يُدْخِلُكَ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ فَنَزَلَتِ الْآيَاتُ مِنْ آخَرِ يس، أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُبِينٌ إِلَى آخَرِ السُورَة «٣» .

١٨١٢١ - عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ، عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا قَالَ: أُبَيُّ بْنُ خَلَفٍ جَاءَ بِعَظْمٍ، فقال: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، أَتَعِدُنَا إِنَّا إِذَا مِتْنَا فَكُنَّا مِثْلَ هَذَا الْعَظْمِ الْبَالِي فِي يَدِهِ فَفَتَّهُ، وَقَالَ: مَنْ يُحْيِينَا إِذَا كُنَّا مِثْلَ هَذَا؟ «٤» .

١٨١٢٢ - عَنِ السُّدِّىِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ، عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ فِي أُبَّيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ عَظْمٌ قَدْ دُثِرَ، فَجَعَلَ يَفُتُّهُ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ وَيَقُولُ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، أَنْتَ الَّذِي تُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ هَذَا سيحيا بعد ما قد بلى، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «نَعَمْ، لَيُمِيتَنَّ الْآخَرَ، ثُمَّ لَيُحْيِيَنَّهُ ثُمَّ لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُ النَّارَ» «٥» .

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ

١٨١٢٣ - عَنْ عِكْرَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ، عَنْهُ قَالَ: جَاءَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ خَلَفٍ إِلَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِي يَدِهِ عَظْمٌ حَائِلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، أَنَّى يُحْيِي اللَّهُ هَذَا؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ:

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَلَقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ أَعْجَبَ مِنْ إِحْيَائِهَا وقد كانت» «٦» .
