His saying, the Exalted: "Say, He will give them life who produced them the first time."
18124 - From Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: "When Allah revealed to His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that people will be held to account for their deeds and will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection, they denied it severely. Ubayy ibn Khalaf took a decayed, crumbling bone, crumbled it, and then cast it into the wind. He then said: 'O Muhammad, if our bones are decayed, shall we indeed be resurrected as a new creation?' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) felt a deep sense of distress at his receiving him with denial and harm to his face, so Allah revealed to His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): 'Say, He will give them life who produced them the first time.'"
His saying, the Exalted: "Who has made for you from the green tree, fire."
18125 - From Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "Who has made for you from the green tree, fire," he says: "He who brought out this fire from this tree is able to resurrect him." And regarding His saying: "Is not He who created the heavens and the earth able..." He said: "This is like His saying: 'His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is.' He said: 'There is nothing in the speech of the Arabs easier or lighter than that, so the command of Allah is likewise.'"
18126 - Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn al-Junayd narrated to us: Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' narrated to us: Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Zayyat narrated to us, from Hushaym, from Abu Bishr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, that al-'As ibn Wa'il took a bone from the valley (al-Batha') and crumbled it with his hand. Then he said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): 'Will Allah the Exalted revive this after I see it?' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Yes. Allah will cause you to die, then He will revive you, then He will admit you into Hell.' He said: 'And the verses from the end of Surah Ya-Sin were revealed.'"
