in its entirety, and He revealed for them a concession to slaughter the sacrificial animals (hady) they had with them, which consisted of seventy camels, and to shave their heads and come out of their state of ihram. Upon that, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded them to shave their heads and come out of their state of ihram, but they did not do so, waiting for an abrogation, until he went out and shaved his head, then the people did likewise. Among them were those who trimmed their hair and did not shave it, and for that reason, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "May Allah have mercy on those who shave." They said: "And those who trim, O Messenger of Allah?" He said the third time: "And those who trim."
