2111: Harm: 2: Menstruation is an innate condition and a customary nature known among women. Al-Bukhari narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out to the prayer ground on the day of Adha or Fitr. He passed by the women and said: "O assembly of women, give charity, for I have seen that you constitute the majority of the people of the Fire." They said: "And why is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your spouses. I have not seen any who are deficient in intelligence and religion who can better beguile the mind of a resolute man than one of you." They said: "And what is our deficiency in intelligence and religion, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Is not the testimony of a woman like half the testimony of a man?" They said: "Yes." He said: "That is because of the deficiency of her intelligence. Is it not that when she is menstruating, she neither prays nor fasts?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "That is because of the deficiency of her religion."
