and Zayd bin Thabit, Salim, al-Qasim, 'Urwah, Sulayman bin Yasar, Abu Bakr bin 'Abd al-Rahman, Aban bin 'Uthman, 'Ata' bin Abi Rabah, Qatadah, al-Zuhri, and the rest of the seven jurists. This is the school of thought of Malik, al-Shafi'i, a number of others, and Abu Thawr, and it is a narration from Ahmad.

: 2176: He divorces: 3: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/108).

414: 2186: Three monthly cycles (quru'): 1: Abu 'Amr bin al-'Ala' said: The Arabs call menstruation 'qur'', they call the period of purity 'qur'', and they call both purity and menstruation collectively 'qur''.

Sheikh Abu 'Umar bin 'Abd al-Barr said: The scholars of the Arabic language and the jurists do not disagree that the term 'qur'' is intended to mean menstruation and is also intended to mean the period of purity. They only differed regarding what is intended by it in the verse, with two opinions.

415: 2189: Similar to that: 1: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/108).

: 2190: Their wombs: 2: Ibn Kathir said: Meaning, whether by pregnancy or menstruation.

416: 2195: Reconciliation: 1: Al-Qurtubi said: Al-bu'ulah (husbands) is the plural of al-ba'l, which is the husband. He is called ba'l due to his superiority (uluww) over the wife by virtue of what he possesses of authority over her marriage. From this is His saying, the Almighty: "Do you call upon Ba'l (a lord)?" [37:125], meaning a lord, due to his superiority in lordship. It is said: ba'l and bu'ulah just as it is said in the plural of dhakar (male): dhakar and dhukurah, and in the plural of fahl (stallion): fahl and fuhulah. This ha' (at the end) is supplementary and emphatic for the feminine group, and it is irregular (shadh), not to be used as a paradigm, and the pluralization of beasts is taken into account in it.

Al-bu'ulah is the verbal noun of al-ba'l. Al-muba'alah and al-bi'al mean intercourse; from this is his (peace be upon him) saying regarding the days of Tashriq: "They are days of eating, drinking, and intercourse (bi'al)."

So the man is the woman's ba'l, and the woman is his ba'lah.
