: 2211: Insults her: 2: Ibn Jarir said: Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim narrated to me, saying: al-Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Layth ibn Abi Idris, from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for a divorce without a valid reason, the fragrance of Paradise is forbidden to her."
Authentic. It was narrated by Ibn Majah (h/2055), Ahmad (5/277), al-Darimi (2/162), Ibn Abi Shaybah (5/271), Batta (47), al-Muntaqa (748), al-Hakim (2/200), and al-Irwa' (7/100). It was likewise authenticated by Shaykh al-Albani.

421: 2225: Khul' (Divorce for compensation): 1: Al-Qurtubi said: Scholars disagreed regarding Khul', whether it is a divorce (talaq) or an annulment (faskh). It was narrated from 'Uthman, 'Ali, Ibn Mas'ud, and a group of the Followers (Tabi'un) that it is a divorce, and this is the opinion of Malik, al-Thawri, al-Awza'i, Abu Hanifah and his companions, and al-Shafi'i in one of his two opinions.
Whoever intends by the Khul' one or two divorces, it is binding upon him according to Malik.
The proponents of Ra'y (the Hanafi school) said: If the husband intends three, it counts as three, and if he intends two, it is one irrevocable divorce.
