: 2397: Marriage: 2: Malik narrated in his Muwatta' from Sa'd ibn Ishaq ibn Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, from his paternal aunt Zaynab bint Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah: That Fari'ah bint Malik ibn Sinan—she is the sister of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with them both—informed her that she came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, requesting to return to her family among the Banu Khudrah, for her husband had not left her in a residence that he owned, nor any maintenance. She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Yes." She said: So I turned away, and when I was in the room, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, called me, or ordered for me and I was called to him, and he said: "What did you say?" I repeated to him the story I had mentioned regarding my husband's affair, and he said: "Stay in your house until the book reaches its end." She said: So I observed the waiting period ('iddah) in it for four months and ten days. She said: When 'Uthman ibn 'Affan was in power, he sent for me and asked me about that, so I informed him, and he followed it and judged by it.
