the sin. This is the view of the majority of scholars, and the Arabs use that frequently in their speech, and among that is the saying of Amr ibn Kulthum:
Let no one be ignorant toward us, so that we may be ignorant above the ignorance of the ignorant.
: 145: Increases them: 2: Al-Qurtubi said regarding the saying of the Almighty: "He gives them respite (yumidduhum)," meaning: He prolongs the period for them, grants them respite, and gives them leeway, as He said: "We only give them respite so that they may increase in sin." Its origin is increase. Yunus ibn Habib said: It is said 'madda' (to extend) regarding evil, and 'amadda' (to grant aid) regarding good. Allah the Almighty said: "And We provided you with wealth and children."
