when they looked at Goliath and his soldiers—and they were one hundred thousand, all fully armed—three thousand six hundred and some eighty men turned back. Based on this, the believers, who were certain of the Resurrection and the return to Allah the Almighty, said at that moment—and they were equal in number to the people of Badr: "How often has a small group overcome a large group by the permission of Allah."

480: 2534: What He wills: 1: Al-Suddi said: Allah gave him the kingdom of Saul and the prophethood of Samuel. What He taught him was the craft of making chainmail, the language of birds, and other types of knowledge He taught him, may peace and blessings be upon him.

Ibn Abbas said: It is that Allah gave him a chain connected to the Galaxy and the firmament, the end of which was at the prayer niche of David. No event would occur in the air but that the chain would ring, so David would know what happened. No one with an ailment would touch it but that they would be healed. It was a sign of his people entering the religion that they would touch it with their hands and then wipe their palms over their chests. They would use it for arbitration after David, peace be upon him, until it was raised up.

481: 2540: Through some: 1: Ibn Jarir said: Abu Humayd al-Homsi narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"Indeed, Allah rectifies, through the righteousness of the righteous Muslim man, his children, his grandchildren, the people of his household, and the households around him, and they remain under the protection of Allah the Almighty as long as he is among them."
