Authentic. Narrated by Abu Dawud (h/3561), Al-Tirmidhi (h/1266) who said: 'This is a hasan sahih hadith.' Also Ibn Majah (h/2400), Ahmad (5/8, 12, 13), Al-Darimi (2/262), Al-Bayhaqi (6/90, 95, 8/276), Al-Fath (5/241), Sharh al-Sunnah (8/226), Al-Mishkat (2950), Talkhis (3/53), Al-Tabarani (7/252), Nasb al-Rayah (3/376, 4/167), Ibn Abi Shaybah (6/146), Ibn Kathir (1/500), Al-Khafa' (2/90), and Al-Muntaqa (1024). It was authenticated by Shaykh Al-Albani.
