There is no disagreement that the reference to these two parties is to the day of Badr. There was a difference of opinion as to who is being addressed by it; it was said it is possible that the believers are being addressed, and it is possible that all the disbelievers are being addressed, and it is possible that the Jews of Medina are being addressed; and for every possibility among these, a group of scholars has spoken.
