[Part One]

Page number: 25. Hadith number: 1. Text of takhrij (verification): 1. Al-Qurtubi said: The scholars said: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful," is an oath from our Lord which He revealed at the beginning of every surah, swearing to His servants: "Indeed, that which I have placed for you, O My servants, in this surah is true, and I will fulfill for you all that I have guaranteed in this surah of My promise, My kindness, and My goodness." And "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" is among that which Allah the Almighty revealed in our Book and specifically to this Ummah, after Solomon, peace be upon him. Some scholars said:

Indeed, "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" encompasses the entire Sharia because it points to the Essence and to the Attributes, and this is correct. However, this report has a weak chain of narration.

: 2. Creation: 2. I say: Ibn Kathir narrated it in his Tafsir (1/17) and said: "This is very strange (gharib), and it might be authentic up to those below the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and it might be from the Isra'iliyyat and not from the marfu' (elevated) reports, and Allah knows best."

The cause of this report is Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash. Ibn Hibban said: He is not to be used as a proof, An-Nasa'i weakened him, and Ibn Ma'in authenticated him. (Al-Mughni fi al-Du'afa: 1/85/697).

: 3. Name: 3. The Basmalah is recommended when eating due to what is in Sahih Muslim that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to his ward, 'Umar ibn Abi Salamah: "Say 'In the name of Allah,' eat with your right hand, and eat from what is nearest to you."

Narrated by Muslim in (Al-Ashribah, h/108), Ibn Majah (h/3267), Ahmad (4/26), Ibn Abi Shaybah (8/104), Al-Bayhaqi (7/277), Al-Adhkar (209), and Al-Qurtubi (4/78).

: 5. Nearness: 4. In the Two Sahihs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Indeed, Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred minus one; whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise."

Narrated by Al-Bukhari (3/259, 9/145), Muslim in (Al-Dhikr wa al-Du'a, h/6), Al-Tirmidhi (h/3506, 3507, 3508), Ibn Majah (h/3860, 3861), Ahmad (2/258, 499), Al-Bayhaqi (10/27), Al-Hakim (1/16), Ibn Hibban (2384), Al-Hilyah (3/122, 6, 274, 10/380), Al-Tabari (9/91, 15/121), Talkhis (4/172), Al-Khatib (8/337), and Mishkat (2287, 2288).

26: 6. Torment: 1. Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/21).

: 7. And Exalted: 2. The previous source.

: 8. My servant: 3. Abu Ja'far ibn Jarir said: The meaning of "All praise is due to Allah" (Al-Hamdulillah) is:

Gratitude to Allah exclusively, apart from all else that is worshipped besides Him, and apart from all that He created, for the favors He has bestowed upon His servants—favors that cannot be numbered by count, nor can anyone other than He encompass their number. This includes the perfecting of the faculties for His obedience, and enabling the limbs of the bodies of those who are obligated to perform His obligatory acts, along with the provision He has spread for them in their worldly life and the bounty of living with which He has nourished them, without any entitlement from them to Him for that, and along with what He has alerted them to and called them toward, from the means leading to everlasting eternity in the Abode of Permanence.
