Ibn Kathir said: "This is a sahih (authentic) mawquf chain of narration, and 'Amr ibn Maymun has followed him regarding it, from Ibn Mas'ud."

It was narrated by Ibn Mardawayh from the hadith of Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, from Ibn Wahb, from Sufyan al-Thawri, from Zubayd, from Murra, from 'Abd Allah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Fear Allah as He ought to be feared: that He be obeyed and not disobeyed, be thanked and not shown ingratitude, and be remembered and not forgotten."

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/387).
