by reducing his capital in his sale. Likewise, the hypocrite and the disbeliever have lost by Allah depriving them of Himself and of the mercy He created for His servants on the Day of Resurrection, when they will be most in need of His mercy. It is said, 'Khasara al-rajulu yaksuru khasran wa khusranan wa khasaran' (the man lost, he loses, a loss, a state of loss, and a ruin), as Jarir ibn Atiyyah said: 'Indeed, Sulayk is in ruin; he is first to possess a skull.'
