Ibn 'Adi said: "Bishr ibn 'Ubayd is a narrator of rejected (munkar) hadiths." Al-Azdi declared him a liar. Refer to Ibn Kathir (2/128), al-Mizan (1205), Lisan (2/93), and al-Da'ifah (Hadith no. 810).

802: 4421: The matter: 1: Ibn Kathir said: He consulted them at Uhud regarding whether to remain in Medina or go out to the enemy, so the majority of them advised going out to them, and he went out to them.

He also consulted them on the day of the Trench regarding reconciling with the Confederates (al-Ahzab) with a third of the fruits of Medina at that time, but the two Sa'ds—Sa'd ibn Mu'adh and Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah—refused this for him, so he abandoned that.

He also consulted them on the day of Hudaybiyyah regarding attacking the offspring of the polytheists, but al-Siddiq (Abu Bakr) said to him: "We did not come to fight, rather we came as pilgrims." He accepted what he said, and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said regarding the incident of the Ifk (the Slander):

"Advise me, O assembly of Muslims, regarding a people who have defamed my family and accused them. By Allah, I have not known any evil in my family. And whom have they defamed? By Allah, I have known nothing but good."

Ibn Kathir: (1/420) and al-Khatib (9/83).

: 4422: Allah: 2: The previous source for Ibn Kathir.

803: 4428: Says: 1: Similar to it. Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/421).

: 4429: Betrays: 2: Hasan (sound). Recorded by Abu Dawud in (Al-Huruf wa al-Qira'at, Hadith no. 3) and al-Tirmidhi (Hadith no. 3009), who said: "This is a hasan gharib hadith. 'Abd al-Salam ibn Harb narrated something similar to this from Khusayf, and some of them narrated this hadith from Khusayf from Miqsam and did not mention 'from Ibn 'Abbas' in it."

And Tafsir al-Thawri (p. 81).
