Translation · EN

909: 5069: Their private parts: 1: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/151).

: 5071: That: 2: Muslim narrated in his Sahih from Jabir regarding the Farewell Pilgrimage sermon, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said therein: "Fear Allah concerning women, for you have taken them under the trust of Allah and have made their private parts lawful to you by the word of Allah."

Regarding the saying of the Almighty: "And they have taken from you a solemn covenant," it is narrated from Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, and Sa'id ibn Jubayr: that the intent behind this is the marriage contract.

: 5073: Past: 3: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/468).

910: 5078: Your pre-Islamic state (jahiliyyah): 1: Similar to it. Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/468).

: 5079: Upon it: 2: Abu al-Abbas said: I asked Ibn al-A'rabi about the marriage of 'Al-Maqt'. He said: It is for a man to marry the wife of his father if he divorces her or dies leaving her, and this man is called 'al-dayzan'.

Ibn 'Arafah said: When a man among the Arabs married his father's wife and fathered a child from her, the child was called 'al-maqti'.

The root of 'al-maqt' is hatred (bughd), derived from 'maqatahu yamqutuhu maqtan', so he is 'mamqut' (hated) and 'maqit' (hateful).
