922: 5150: Their masters: 1: Ibn Kathir said: This verse indicates that the master is the guardian of his slave-woman; she may not be married except by his permission. Likewise, he is the guardian of his male slave; he does not have the right to marry without his permission, as it came in the hadith: "Whichever slave marries without the permission of his masters is a scoundrel."

Authentic (sahih). Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (no. 1111, 1112), Ibn Majah (no. 1960), Ahmad (3/377), Ibn Abi Shaybah (4/261), al-Irwa' (6/351), Ibn Kathir (2/227), al-Qurtubi (5/142), al-Hilyah (7/333), al-Mishkat (3135), and Sharh al-Sunnah (9/62).

923: 5157: Hadith: 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/476). Ibn Kathir said: "Its chain of narration contains weakness, and among them are those who did not accept it; it does not constitute a proof."

924: 5162: That: 1: It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "If the slave-woman of one of you commits adultery, and her adultery is proven, then let him lash her with the legal punishment (hadd), and let him not rebuke her further." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/476)).

927: 5184: Anyone: 1: Among the completeness of mutual consent is the establishment of the option of the session (khiyar al-majlis), as it is established in the two Sahihs that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The two transacting parties have the choice so long as they have not separated."

Authentic (sahih). Agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhari.
