Translation · EN

1027: 5756: Find them: 1: Surah Bara'ah, verse 5.

: 5759: These people: 2: His statement, "Their chests were constrained," is a supplication against them, as one would say, "May Allah curse the disbeliever." It was stated by al-Mubarrad. Some commentators have weakened it, saying, "This implies that they should not fight their own people, and that is corrupt because they are disbelievers and their people are disbelievers." It was answered that its meaning is correct; thus, the lack of fighting refers to the Muslims, rendering them helpless, while in the case of their own people, it refers to disparaging them.

1028: 5765: Reconciliation: 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/534).

1029: 5769: And reconcile: 1: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/1029).

: 5770: In it: 2: His statement, "Arkasu" (thrown back), means they turned back on the covenant they had made. It is also said: it means if they are called to polytheism, they return and go back to it.

: 5772: Polytheism: 3: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (1/169).

1031: 5781: His companions: 1: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/170).

: 5783: Muslims: 2: Dawud held the view of retaliation (Qisas) between a free person and a slave regarding life, and in everything where retaliation is possible among the limbs, holding onto the saying of the Almighty: "And We ordained for them therein that a life for a life" up to His saying: "and wounds are [subject to] legal retribution," and his (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) statement: "The blood of the Muslims is equivalent."

Authentic (Sahih). Recorded by Abu Dawud (hadith/2751), Ibn Majah (hadith/1683), al-Bayhaqi (8/29), Abd al-Razzaq (403), al-Fath (12/261), al-Hakim (2/141), Sharh al-Sunnah (10/172), al-Mishkat (3475, 3476), Talkhis (4/118), and Shifa (1/173).
