1035: 5802: His family: 1: Scholars have reached a consensus that the blood-money for a woman is half that of a man. Abu Umar said: "The blood-money for her has become half the blood-money of a man—and Allah knows best—because she inherits half of what a man inherits, and the testimony of two women is equivalent to the testimony of one man." This specifically applies to accidental homicide (Qatl al-Khata'); as for intentional homicide (Qatl al-'Amd), there is retaliation (Qisas) between men and women due to His saying, the Almighty: "A life for a life" and "The free for the free," as previously mentioned in [Surah] al-Baqarah.

1036: 5813: What abrogated it: 1: Hasan (sound). Recorded by al-Tirmidhi (hadith/3029), who said: This is a Hasan Gharib hadith. Also by al-Nasa'i (7/87), Ahmad (1/222, 267, 5/364), Ithafat (310), al-Tabarani (2/177), and al-Kanz (39910).
