Imam Ahmad said: 'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Aban narrated to us, 'Asim narrated to us from Abu Wa'il from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection are: a man killed by a Prophet, or one who killed a Prophet, an Imam of misguidance, and a maker of images among the image-makers."

Narrated by Ahmad in his "Musnad" (1/407), Al-Kanz (9366), Al-Shajari (1/56), Ibn Kathir in his "Tafsir" (1/146), Al-Manthur (1/73), Al-Tabarani (10/260), and Al-Majma' (1/181). He attributed it to Al-Tabarani in "Al-Kabir". In the authentic version of it, there is the story of the image-maker, and it contains Al-Harith al-A'war, who is weak.
