And His saying, the Most High: "Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving, Merciful." He said: Thus, the word 'Lord' (al-Rabb) contains a warning, and 'the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful' (al-Rahman, al-Rahim) contains encouragement.

And in Sahih Muslim, it is narrated from Abu Hurayrah that he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "If the believer knew what punishment is with Allah, no one would covet His Paradise; and if the disbeliever knew what mercy is with Allah, no one would despair of His mercy."

Narrated by Muslim in (Al-Tawbah, no. 23), al-Tirmidhi (no. 3542), Ahmad (2/334, 397, 484), Ibn Hibban (2523), al-Mishkat (2367), al-Targhib (4/262), and al-Qurtubi (1/34, 139). It was authenticated by Sheikh al-Albani (al-Sahihah: no. 1634).

: 22. Claim (yantahilu-hu): 3. In the original manuscript it is "yantahilu-na-hu" and the correction is from "Ibn Kathir" (1/37).

29: 23. Judgment (Din): 1. Ibn Kathir said: The word 'al-Din' refers to recompense and reckoning, as the Almighty said: "That Day, Allah will pay them their due compensation" and He said: "Are we to be recompensed?" meaning, are we to be judged and held to account? In the hadith: "The wise person is the one who holds himself to account and works for what comes after death."

Narrated by Ahmad (4/24), al-Bayhaqi (3/369), al-Hakim (1/57, 4/251), al-Tabarani (7/338, 341), Ithaf (7/44, 8/428, 441, 9/18, 39/166, 10/93), Sharh al-Sunnah (14/308, 309), and al-Qurtubi (1/144, 16/167).
