Translation · EN

She said: Abu Salamah came to me one day from the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: I have heard a statement from the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that has brought me joy. He said: "There is no Muslim who is afflicted by a calamity, so he seeks refuge in Allah (istirja') when he is struck by it, then says: O Allah, reward me in my calamity and replace it for me with something better than it, except that He will do that for him," the hadith.

Authentic. Narrated by Ahmad (4/27, 6/309), Muslim (p. 631, 632), and al-Tamhid (3/180, 183).
