: 6665: The people: 2: Abu Dawud said: 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Nufayli narrated to us, Yunus ibn Rashid narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Badhima, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "The first decline that entered upon the Children of Israel was that a man would meet another man and say: 'O you, fear Allah and leave what you are doing, for it is not lawful for you.' Then he would meet him the following day, and that (his sin) would not prevent him from being his dining companion, his drinking companion, and his seated companion. So when they did that, Allah struck the hearts of some of them with others."
