: 6677: The truth: 2: Ibn Kathir said in the explanation of this verse: Meaning, among them are found the 'qissisun' (priests), who are their speakers and scholars; the singular is 'qissis' and also 'qass'. It may also be pluralized as 'qusus'. 'Ruhban' (monks) is the plural of 'rahib', who is the worshiper; it is derived from 'rahbah', which is fear, like 'rakib' and 'rukban', or 'faris' and 'fursan'. Ibn Jarir said: 'Ruhban' might be singular, and its plural is 'ruhabin', like 'qurban' and 'qurabin', or 'juradhan' and 'jaradin'; and it may also be pluralized as 'rahabinah'.
